Oh! I am dumb!
I thought I would mention:
So my Professor Mick says that you have to pretty much submit to a billion things, get a nice rejection letter collection, and then you know you are really working as an artist. For every 100 entries, you get rejected 99 times.
I think I am doing fairly well then, because I have had 2 out of 4 acceptances!
I submitted in the last few months too:
The American River College Review Book:
Poetry (just got my rejection letter.. DOH)
Art (waiting to see if I got in)
The James Kaneko Gallery Student Show at ARC: I got in! Wooot!
There were over 300 entrants in the Student show, and I was one of the students who got in. Yay! I R Proud of me. Heh.
The Gary Pruner Scholarship - I gots it!
The Pruner was based on a compilation of work, 5 pieces total. There were over 1000 entrants, and I won! (woah).
So in all 2 out of 4 is awesome. I am going to keep on submitting to everything and anything. You never do know what you are going to get, but you know what you won't get if you don't apply..

It is with sorrow, and joy and with quiet resolve that I paint.. I paint with all the emotions I cannot show, and all the ones I cannot fathom..... and if that means I paint the saddest lemons ever... then so be it... ~Heather
